What is Neuropsychology?
Neuropsychology specializes in the practice of brain-behavioral relationships. This field is a unique subspecialty of Clinical Psychology, which encompasses the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of the various neurological disorders such as traumatic brain injury (TBI), Stroke Concussion and Dementia. The challenges associated with Attention Deficit Disorders, cognitive impairment due to cancer therapies, memory challenges, or emotional regulation can also be effectively addressed with a treating Neuropsychologist.
In addition to completing a four-year doctoral degree, Neuropsychologists complete a rigorous two-year fellowship and have extensive, specialized knowledge of brain structure, functions and rehabilitation.
